BSOD after start screen, video_tdr_failure (atikmpag.sys)

I've been getting a BSOD after logging in my PC. Everything is normal at first, then the screen goes black. It flickers back to my desktop, then turns black again. This happens about 10 times, before the BSOD appears. The error: video_tdr_failure (atikmpag.sys).
I've already RMA'd my motherboard, GPU, and PSU. Previously my GPU wouldn't send a signal to my monitor. Now it does, but it BSOD. I've also reinstalled Windows. I am using the latest AMD drivers.
    Any help is appreciated.

    My specs:
    Windows 8.1 64 bit
    Gigabyte R9 270x
    Intel i3 4130
    Gigabyte B85-D3H Mobo

Thanks! I hope to contribute to this forum.

I did what you said to do, and and downloaed the latest beta driver. I downloaded this driver: http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-arti...dows-beta.aspx

Now when I log into my PC, the screen goes black after a couple of seconds. No BSOD appears. What older driver do you recommend I should try?

    Hi ExcellentNoob ^_^,

Does the screen remain black forever after the login?

You could try the drivers provided to you with the Graphics Card Manufacturer on the Media Disc which came with the GPU. If you don't have a disc, I would recommend trying a version which is a few months older (Sorry, I don't use ATI ).

Oh my god. It's working now. I don't know what I did, but when I turned on my PC today it's working. Thank you so much! I'll do some testing being I mark this as solved.

Ok, it works but occasionally the AMD drivers "crash and has recovered". It doesn't happen very often, but I'd still like to get rid of it. Any idea on how to fix this?

    Hi ExcellentNoob ^_^,

Are you able to get into Safe Mode and get to the Desktop? Have you tried leaving system on for some time after log in?

Sadly, I am not much familiar with Black Screens. I will ask usasma to post back here as he is more familiar with this . Kindly await his response.

Well, it's a combination of that problem and "Display drivers AMD has crashed and recovered". The times where I can get into my desktop, the drivers always crash. I might just take it to a shop, this is getting too frustrating.

I understand that this is frustrating. Kindly run the Display Driver Uninstaller linked in my previous post again and try installing an old version of the driver (Like 3-4 months earlier) and see if the issue is resolved or not.

If you are still facing the problem, then see if the problem is solved by the following registry fix -
TDR Fix (For AMD & NVIDIA Users) - OMG Debugging!!!

Use the registry instructions given below in the above post.
