Also my speakers were fried since the past two months...
So i askd them to replace the hinge and the speakers as well so that it would be done with..

Wat i failed to mention here was that this problem started occuring as soon as i gt the laptop repaired and new hinges n speakers fit...
Caz i thot there would b no connection between the two events..
They said they would test it 2mrow after removing the speakers and see if the problem exists...
If it exists then they said it would b a graphics chip problem which they are afraid has no solution...

Can any1 tell me if such a problem can occur due to change in hardware?
Or is it crazy to think my laptop is rejecting the new speakers like a bad organ transplant...
I don't see how......what fried the speakers? , I'd say whatever caused that may be the root of your problems.

    Okay...
The speaker thing didnt pan out...
I had my heat sink replaced (cost me about 20$)
though it does seem to have reduced the problem to a greater extent, it still isnt totally gone...
I still haf random shutdowns due to high temperature...
What baffling to me is that after i gt d heat sink replaced, i played a 720 video of 20 mins, put it in loop and left for work...
wen i returned, it was still playing with no problems whatsoever...
so i figured dat my problem as solved...
Bt now everytime i actually watch dat same video, it shuts down after like 10 mins of playing....
I am tired of this now and i dnt haf the option to buy a new laptop...
Can dis problem be caused due to windows 8?
and also, if i choose to remove everything and reinstall windows 8, would i loose all data in all the hard drives or just the c drive in which windows 8 is currently installed...
I really like windows 8 and dont want to remove it...
However, if formatting it solves the problem den im willing to do it, as long as my other drives dont get formatted.....

    Please help people!!!

    Win8.1Pro - Finally!!!

Almost anything is possible with computers - but there are limits.
Reinstalling Windows 8 may/may not wipe your data - it depends on how you do it, and how you follow the instructions (if it's an OEM disk/setup). IMO it's never safe to assume that it'll save every thing - ALWAYS backup!!!

Have you tried a laptop cooling pad? One that blows cool air up into the bottom of the laptop?

Laptop shutting down due to high tempratures

okay all, i had posted a thread on dis website saying that my laptop shuts down at random while playing 720p videos..
With inputs frm various members, i narrowed it down to the fact that my laptop was over heating...

    I tried everything...
opening the laptop, cleaning the fan, removing the heat sink and applying a new coat of thermal paste,
    Nothing pan out...

Den i gave it to a repair shop and dey said the heat sink needs to be replaced...
Now i gt it replaced, and the problem has reduced, bt in no ways has it been solved....

I mean when i gt it back frm repairs, i played a 720p video and looped it and left the laptop open and went to work..
when i returned, it was still playing...
so i thot my problem has been solved...
Bt now anytime i play that same video again, the laptop shuts down almost at 10 mins of it watching...

I'm tired of dis... one of the members here asked me to post in the hardware section of dis site as it may as well be a hardware problem i'm facing and that i would get more help here....

So my question is, can anybody help me with dis problem and for d love of god put an end to it?

Also, ive been told by a couple of guys that try using a cooling pad...
Do they help? or is it just a waste of money??
