Could not disagree more with the guy's article. As noted in another article in another place in the forum, tablets are popular because they take the apps from our phones and put them on readable screens, be that 7 up to 10 inch screens. Nobody really wants, or needs, the desktop brought down to tablet size devices, and nobody really wants to be right up on their monitor putting their fingerprints all over it.
Microsoft's problem is the Windows 8 Pro looks like it belongs on a tablet, not a desktop. Windows RT, which is in the sweet spot, gets confusing because it runs office, in the desktop paradigm, but no other desktop apps. Microsoft should clean up the message and have Windows Tablet and Windows Desktop. Each can run the new modern UI apps, but the desktop uses the desktop paradigm and the tablet the tablet. Also, the tablet only runs Modern UI apps. That would clear things up a lot. Believe me, I had windows RT Surface for five days and loved it. I only returned it because of the lack of applications. Until I can get the apps I get on Android on Windows RT, I'm just not willing to change my tablet.
