Find My Phone is a free service for your Windows Phone 8 at the My Phone section on WindowsPhone.com that can ring, lock, erase, or show your phone on a map from any Internet-connected computer. Find My Phone makes it easier to recover your phone, or to prevent someone from using it without your permission.

Note
Find My Phone uses SMS (text messaging) to send commands that map, ring, lock, or erase your phone.
When you ring your phone, it will ring even if the volume is off or it's in vibrate mode.
If Microsoft can't ring your phone right now, then you will need to try again later.

Here's How:
1. On any computer, go to WindowsPhone.com.
2. If you have not already, you will need to Sign in (upper right corner) using your same Microsoft account that you used to sign in on your Windows Phone 8, and click/tap on Find My Phone in the same upper right corner drop down menu. (see screenshot below)
3. Click/tap on Ring. (see screenshot below)
4. If prompted to set up Find My Phone, then verify that the displayed phone number is correct for your Windows Phone 8, check the I authorize... box, and click/tap on Done. (see screenshot below)
5. If successful, your phone will start ringing to help make locating it easier if it was just misplaced nearby. Click/tap on OK. (see screenshot below)
