Systems have bugs all their useful lives. If they didn't support people would be largely out of a job.

Systems have bugs all their useful lives. If they didn't support people would be largely out of a job.

The best one I've found so far has to do with the new Defender and File Copy dialogs. If you try to copy a group of files and Defender doesn't like on of them, there is no option to simply skip that file. You cannot complete the copy at all.

Ouch, and hitherto MSE/Defender has been given high marks by most people.

I can't find the option to scan a particular file either. Sure would be nice to be able to scan something at will...

Install Malwarebytes. The "Scan with Malwarebytes" option works on Eight's right click context menu.

I was able to install SE on Win8 and it has individual file scan in the context menu of Windows Explorer.

Once again with feeling...Microsoft Security Essentials has been renamed Windows defender in Windows 8 - and is already installed. Downloading MSE is a waste of time as it wont install anyway.
