My laptop suffered severe damage.
I want to replace it with a similar machine. upgrade the processor.
I had a 1 terabyte hard drive. Have a good recent image file with daily updates of files and folders to the time of the mishap.
I know anything new will have windows 8.1. would I be able to do a recovery using the current image file? I have many programs and have most of the pkgs. but some no longer exist.
would this work or will I have problems with the BIOS since the prod. key is in there.
could someone share thoughts on this please.
