The purpose of this article is pretty simple: to present all the changes that Microsoft plans to bring with its next Windows release, along with a few details to help you figure out the purpose of each of them.

Important feature for me is IE11.

Hi there
IE11 already is in leaked builds so that is DEFINITE.

Cheers

Thanks jimbo.

Hi there

No probs. Incidentally IE11 has some nice features - sync to other devices and runs nearly everything without having to add loads of plugins / extras so it can be made secure. Decently fast as well.

Also makes browsing LOCAL files too easier so you can find quickly multi-media etc etc without having to do separate searches. There's other stuff but I'm going to wait for the official preview as a bit has changed since I "sourced" this build from the wild.

If you DO find a decent leak on the usual torrent sites (In the UK if you have Virgin, SKY or Talk Talk use OPERA browser with the built in proxy to access those "usual places") then run in a VM to avoid any possible system "contamination" although the current leaks do seem genuine.

Cheers
jimbo

So basically 8.1 is just a big meh, its nothing really improved for desktop pcs, just bunch of metro'ness and worldwide brainwash "look, we got you start button back", because the button itself always was there, it just was invisible, fact is, it still opens start screen, not menu... K, boot to desktop is there, but thats only like 1 out of 100 things ms needs to fix ...

Most of all, I'm excited for IE 11. IE 10 has already taken a huge leap, as IE9 and previous were pretty much unusable.

Yanno, don't get me wrong... as soon as something comes along that is in my opinion better than what the current desktop is, I would switch so fast it would make yer head spin.

But to date, tifkam is far far far from that.(imho, of course)
I'd love something new... but it's got to be better, not just different.

Most of it sounds good. I'm not all that pleased that Bing is integrated into the Search charm though. I'll wait and see how it actually works though before passing final judgment.
