Win 8 Is 84% Less Frustrating Than Win 7,Says Bogus Report

The Washington Post should be ashamed of itself for running a puff piece to promote Windows 8. I was mortified when I saw the headline, "Windows 8 is 84 percent less frustrating than Windows 7, report says."

Really? A brand new OS just now getting into play is less frustrating than Windows 7 by 84 percent? How can this number possibly be calculated in so short a time?

I believe you misunderstand. You asked why "some of you dislike Windows 8 but keep using it??????????". SIW2 replied "Also - some of us are on forums - so we need the os for that.". You replied "Well i d o no t find it a good excuse needing to use Windows 8 because one is on other forums......". So I pointed out he is on the 8F Team, wears the EF Team badge...as in, it is indeed a good excuse. He is using it so he can help here. I wasn't saying his opinions were more valid then yours because he is on the 8F team, and you are not ;) I am not on the team either, nor are the majority here.

What utter nonsense! Everyone knows Windows 8 is only 83% less frustrating than Windows 7.

keep looking for the Charms bar and the 'guts menu'.

Lucky for me I use a shutdown short cut for both OS. I do keep pecking away at the Windows key though. In Windows 7 it brings up the start MENU so its not all bad. I still kind of chuckle to myself when I do it.

As much as I love Windows 8, the report seems to be a stretch if you look at the mixed reviews for Windows 8. Though the performance improvements are evident (at least in my PC), in terms of usability not so much. There is quite a learning curve for new users to really get comfortable on how to navigate and learn the gestures which I think is where much of the frustration in Windows 8 comes from.

Personally, I don't see myself going back to Windows 7 as I feel I'm more productive in Windows 8 and I haven't had any frustrating issues with it thus far.
