Uninstall Not listing all my programs

Windows 7 or Windows 8 with a start menu via Classic Shell, Start8 or similar. I don't use the Modern desktop at all.

I'll add that as the Modern method, thanks Kari.

(I think I need to look at some of my other canned responses with an eye to Modern desktop)

WIN + X works both on desktop and Start Screen, is the same than right clicking the Windows 8.1 Start button.

Ztruker, there is always a quick and dirty way. Especially on Windows 8, they come in handy. I have been known to chew a few so called IT LAN coordinators and spit them back out, that work for the State of Illinois in a couple of offices I worked at. They for some reason would love to click the big red "X" in the upper right corner of the programs I needed for doing my job. Instead of just going Windows Key "D".

I blew one of them away, when I went Windows Key "L" and went on break. They stood there dumbfounded and asked how I locked my workstation, without doing Ctrl-Alt-Del.

In the elevated command prompt type sfc /scannow then return

Then Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Then the sfc /scannow again

These processes will take a while. When finished reboot the computer and check the Control Panel

I did that and it said files were corrupted but they are now restored.

But, the situation has not changed. The programs do not show in the uninstall window.

If it helps, he is a snapshot of the full programs as seen by ccleaner. As you can see it does not match whay windows control panel displays. Could it be anything to do with Administrators privaledges?

I have just thought. When all else fails, return to a previous restore point. This I have had to do three times in the last two months.

That is now the new way that explorer shows the menu bar. I personally do not like that feature. But luckily it can be turned off.

The list is still the same how it was with XP, Vista & 7. There are some third party programs that are supposed to work in removing hard to remove software app's. But I have found that they do not always work as they are supposed to. So you end up digging into the registry and Program files directory's to remove them.

maybe ,maybe not, but why not update to win 8.1 as its possible it could fix the issue ,then again it could cause other issues, as it does for some
