To restorehealth using a source - you need to mount an install.wim from the setup media and use it as a source for the files

KYHI, thanks for responding.

I have a question. I have Windows 8.1.1 Pro X64. I also have a CustomRefresh.wim I created a few weeks ago. I have no source problems at the moment so can I use that recimage generated .wim as the source or do I need to use a MediaCreationTool generated install.wim?

I looked at Convertesdwimiso.cmd from the zip file but it's a tad complex for a casual review, so what exactly does it do?

Thanks for replying. I am not a computer wizard and the last line was unclear. I copied the command from the text file to an elevated Command Prompt.

It came back with the component store is repairable. The operation completed successfully. What would you like to attempt to restore image health.

With some choices then I got stuck. Please see below for the full results.

This program will run System File Checker ( SFC ) and DISM to repair an online Windows image
and will look for the setup media to use as a repair source to restorehealth

Step 1: Download and Extract > RESTOREHEALTH v2.ZIP
Step 2: Insert your Windows Setup Media ( Mounted ISO or DVD or USB )
Step 3: Right Click on RESTOREHEALTH v2.CMD and Run as Administrator

You can download Windows 8.1 Setup Media > Create installation media for Windows 8.1 - Windows Help
This program was tested using the created Setup Media as the source for the repair files.
