Redownload the BIOS file and try again with the new file, your current file may be corrupt.

I agree it might be corrupted. After you extract it from the .zip file, it should be 8194 KB.

It is a little strange they jump around in the bios versions. Not sure why the numbers go from 4101 back to 0507 then 0704.

The file I downloaded does say it is for a CM6630, but the bioses are probably identical, or close to it. If you knew for sure what motherboard you have, it might help, as Brink suggests. It is easy to read the model and revision on the board, but you do have to open the case.

I downloaded the bios for the motherboard and it does show as a .rom file. You might try just changing .cap to .rom

Edit: I also notice the size of the file for the motherboard is 4096 KB, which might be for the smaller Bios chip, if you do not have the larger one.

Leave it to computer manufacturer to be this way not explain jumps in BIOS versions,they once told me to use 0704 .CAP one.As i told them and you i need a bios converter to convert from a .CAP to a ROM unless you know another way,renaming it did not work it was not recognized and the image integrity check failed on it.This is the size of the new 4101 downloaded now ROM,4,194,304 bytes.This is the size of the one downloaded on 12/12/2012 4,194,304 bytes.My PC is CM6730.In msinfo32 it shows Models CM6630_CM6730_CM6830.What is strange is motherboard has certain ROM BIOS's the PC does not like 4702.Motherboard says P8H61-M-Pro/CM6630 DP Rev 1.01 ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download P8H61-M PRO

I suppose I am out of suggestions. I have not seen anything concerning the model you have that mentions it being Windows 8 Ready. One of the requirements for it being Windows 8 Ready is the ability to do Secure Boot.

If you want to check a motherboard that is Windows 8 Ready, check the H61M-A, it is showing the 64 Mb Flash ROM.

Well my Model is capable of running Windows 8 Pro 64bit,had it on for a more then a month.It runs fine,faster then Win7 did on same machine.Well you mean that i was looking to run it in UEFI with secure boot,well as far as that is concerned it's a dead issue unless buy new board.As Brink said he did not see much of difference in one computer with it,one without it,as far as the other advantages to having UEFI Win8,besides the secure boot.Some have and i have seen my model with Win 8 on it,in advertisements i did not want it at time i bought this one.Thanks again,live without secure boot for now.
