It will be interesting to see if that works out for Microsoft. If it ends up having a lot of bugs in it, the short release cycle could backfire on them. It's a given there will be some, hopefully its very few and no major issues. Just brace yourself for a rash of upgrades gone bad when it hits the store, and the inevitable, "now what do I do" posts.

also i think there is a lot of people with win8.1 preview running now on there main computer, who don't realise that they will have to do a win8 refresh,and loose all 3rd party apps and such , before install the 8.1 update/upgrade in October

Well it was made clear and posted about a lot, which is also why I haven't run it on my production machine yet. Running it through VM.

On the negative side, since I rarely go into VM, I've not played with 8.1 like I have with 8 being on my laptop.

Kind of sucks you have to reinstall the OS for this though. On the flipside Microsoft did warn people.

and i installed it on a second partition and rarely go there .

as long as the warned people realized what it meant to have to refresh win8 ,all will be good
