Solved Tesco Connect Tablet - First Impressions

ah sorry, it's been a long day! I need drivers for the tablet discussed in this thread.. the tesco connect 7 :)

Sorry also, same deal for me, long day. I see your other post now, lost track of what thread I was in for a second.

I tried to go to the Tesco site, page loads for a second or two then just opens a blank page? I can't access their site? Check the manual to see if it details the hardware. Of check the drivers listed on the Tesco site for hints of what they are for. Example Realtek for audio etc.

I've pretty much tore the Internet apart looking for anything useful! I see the images above detailing devices but haven't had any luck. Bloody thing doesn't even register the battery so I'm constantly unsure how long I have before the tablet dies.

Aye, no luck on the tesco site for anything useful. I did a driver scan with one of those tools that make you pay after the scan, but it didn't detect the touch screen at all so i figure the don't have the drivers.

I've tried a few other tablet drivers, linx 7,etc. again no luck!

You may have to go back to the OS it came with. If you want a fully functioning device.

If it was Windows 8 or 8.1, you can get install media here, Create installation media for Windows 8.1 - Windows Help That install media will use 8.0 and 8.1 keys, even OEM embedded keys. You jst have to know the correct matching version for you product code to work.

I don't mind going back to windows 8.1 with bing - what it came with. But I still think I'll have the same issue to lack of driver availability. Do you know how to scan for all hardware ids?

Trouble is that the embedded key will be for '8.1 With Bing' but last time I looked, the installation media creator which alphanumeric mentioned doesn't work with those keys.

I've put the drivers (saved using DISM) into my onedrive - link on the other thread..

Yeah "with Bing" is PITA to find. I can't even get it from MSDN.

Thanks for the link to the drivers.. Now all I need to do is work out how to scan them. Device manager doesn't detect the touchscreen or sound device so I can't update their drivers.

I'm not knowledgeable when it comes to this level of problem solving on Windows... So yeah, fun times!

I think you need to use DISM somehow - command is in the post KYHI made on the other thread.

Is there a link for the drivers I can use? My touchscreen does not work. I have had no joy with Viglen (The manufacturer!) But any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Markade,
What state is your tablet in - did you try to clean install Windows 10 for instance?

I was surprised to discover that Tesco have started selling Connect tablets again (although seemingly 8 and 10 inch models now) so it may be worth contacting them directly to see if they have drivers.
