Solved Tech Support Phone Scam

I already reported the call to Callercenter.com and shared the phone number to warn others. I also submitted a complaint to the FTC. Now my only problem is, what if that caller stole my info?

Glad I found this page! I have the same question. Got a call from Windows before and the caller asked me to download the teamviewer app, which I did. I gave him the username and password and I saw the cursor on my screen move on it's own. I was suspicious so I hung up. Now, I'm wondering if he was able to copy information that was on my computer. I got usernames and passwords to my online banking accounts saved there.

That was not a very swift move. I assume you learned your lesson. I would change all passwords asap.

hanging up will not stop them ,they still have access to your computer as long as you are on line ,get rid of the teamviewer app ,and they change all you passwords ,and maybe have the computer checked by a tech

Just got off the phone with a 'Scammer', believe it or not! I tried to waste an hour and a half of their time but had to hang up, I couldn't take it anymore!
Man, those characters aren't too swift, persistent, but not too swift!
Anyways, I recorded the whole thing and hope to make an informative, edited video of the ordeal.
(It could also be mildly entertaining as well!) ;)

LOL! That's a hoot!

I had a comical time with this one, playing the naive, gullible dummy. With every instruction I just kept telling him "This folder requires Administrative Privileges, Access denied" or "Web page not available, please try again", then got the reply, (in the usual East Indian accent, not to be stereotypical), "Ohhh, your computer is badly infected, follow my steps and I will help you"!
This went on for about an hour and a quarter!

It was so bad I almost felt embarrassed for the man!

Well that is really odd. I highlighted everything in the address bar and copied and then came here and pasted. I also used File>Send >link by e-mail and sent it to myself and it is exactly the same as the above and when I click on it in the e-mail it opens that page.

I'll see if I can find the page that originally referred me to that site and copy that instead. The one below is from the e-mail I sent to myself per the above and it works for me and also looks identical to the one I posted before so try it and see if it works and I'll look for the referring page.

If you select the link and compare what is in the address bar when you get to the site it is the exact same thing as the first link I posted.
