Tech Support erased all my backup partitions

I have a brand new Asus laptop that had a problem with the battery. I sent it in to Asus on an RMA and when I got it back, the only partition on the laptop was the OS. Is there something I can do so I can re-install the OS some day? I thought if I can get my activation code some way, I could download Win 8 and re-install, but I am not sure if that will even work with Win8.

When I had to send this HP desktop back to the factory for repair, I was told to be sure to back up all my files; that when it was set back to factory specs, only the OS would be left intact.

At the very least, Asus should have told you the same.

BTW- not sure why, but now I am able to use Disk Management and see all five drives.

Ok, so as alphanumeric suggested, did you try recovery from partition present in your system?

Guys, thanks for all your help. I went online last night and chatted with tech support. They said there is something wrong because we were unable to get to the recovery partition even though it is there. I will be sending it in on their RMA program.
