Tami Reller Talks Windows 8.1 "Blue"

Microsoft executive Tami Reller maintains the proverbial stiff upper lip in various interviews this week, but the underlying message is clear enough: Despite public protestations to the contrary, the firm has heard the complaints. And in the coming update, code named “Blue,” it’s going to try and do right by those customers who feel alienated by this release.

Only time will tell if they have heard.

I'm not saying its always wrong to discuss rumours and to speculate. But its dangerous and kind of silly to make rash and sweeping judgements based off nothing but rumours and speculation, and unfortunately that's happening a lot these days.

Meanwhile back on point...

There is quite a it of speculation about what Blue is and isn't, and whether it will be free or not. However, with all the complaints and sagging enthusiasm about Windows 8, I think Microsoft would be doing themselves a huge disservice by charging for the first (Blue) update. As noted by many, with all the issues, this one should definitely be free to all. And it definitely needs to address the desktop users concerns.

But, until it's released, it's all speculation.... and a lot of fear mongering for those pushing an agenda.

As to the news worthiness here, this is a "news" forum, and news on the OS and it's update should be posted. As to the worthiness of it... everyone has an opinion so...

My two cents.

Besides you never know who is reading this, isn't better for Microsoft to read what most of us think, they might get the hint since this is I believe the largest forum for windows 8 besides their own forum

You would think so.....

If an MBA was to learn something in the "real world" of business, it would be that the
"right thing to do" is to give the Blue service pack to current owners for no charge. That is the ethical thing to do..and something else MBAs don't seem to think about is that doing right by those original Windows 8 buyers will keep them a s return customers.

They also learn very quickly in the "real world" that "ethics" better not interfere with profits, or you and your "ethics" will be looking for another job.

While ethics may (hopefully) keep businesses from outright killing you with their products, they don't really get in the way of anything else, mainly greed (aka profits).

That said, hopefully Microsoft will do the right thing and give us Blue. But, until it's (Blue) released, its still speculation.

My two cents.

The point is that I'm not sure rumour, fears and rampant speculation qualify as news, but whatever.

Well, as soon as I earn a Green Member Badge, I'll post some real news, as opposed to the tabloid stuff yer referring to heh.
