David said:When turning it back on it started to do an Automatic Repair but after a few minutes it said it was unable to repair the PC and said to fix it using one of the other Windows 8 options. These options did not work for me.
You can create install media if it is needed, but since this is an OEM device, you might be able to recover using what's already on the box.
It might be a good idea to create it anyway...
:ar: See OPTION ONE in: http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/18309-windows-8-windows-8-1-iso-download-create.html#post178858
Let me see what I can find - but so that I don't chase an option you've already tried ...
What options did you you try?
Here's how you can create the install media - from the official MS ISO.
My post must have been buried in the flurry of activity.
Either that or I'm being completely ignored

Is this what you're referring to? [FIX] Error "0xc000000f - The Boot Selection Failed Because A Required Device Is Inaccessible" - Kapil SparksI'm not really familiar with the use of SIW2's tool.
As per my previous post, I am still of the opinion that chkdsk wil reveal whether that windows partition is in a workable state or not
(I suspect that's the reason Ubuntu did not see it - it won't mount a partition it sees as "in an unsafe state")
- that needs Windows installation media tho' - unless you have the full system32 folder on WinPE.
I'm sure SIW2 he will advise futher regarding recovery.
rt click the taskbar, select task manager.
You will see it there, rt click it and select "Bring to front".
It is a windows 8 stupidity.
