Solved "Share With" Drop Down selections

How would I find out if the account had files in the WMP library? That might make sense because I had created it to use with the xbox glass app, then decided not to use the xbox app... Maybe I should delete the xbox glass app?

This seemed to work for some: Edit = see the answer by GregoYatzee
Cannot delete library in Windows Media Player 12 - Microsoft Community

I don't use WMP except for PGS subtitle support for HD videos, and never for sharing so I'm not familiar with the library and other features.

I disabled the windows media player network sharing service and restarted the computer, it did not start up, but the account came back. It is always listed as being part of the Homegroup only, even if I change it to another type of account. It also does not start up right way, If I run netplwiz really quick it won't be there, but in about 30 seconds it shows up every time.

Any chance it has something to do with the X-Box, Media Extender in Windows media player?

I have been able to isolate it to one service, by going through and disable/enable services.... Not sure if this helps to narrow the issue, but if I Disable "Microsoft Account Sign-in Assistant" The User profile does not appear.

Windows 8 is impossible! So I figured if you can't win join them, so I created the use account again that keeps showing up, so at least there is an account associated with it. When I go online to change my name for the account, it changes online, but will not push it back to the computer, so I have 2 accounts now with my name on them, only differentiated by the e-mail address. Any idea why Microsoft will not sync back to the account when I change the name online?

That's what I ended up doing, switching it to a local account then switching it back to an online account. Once I switched it back to an online account it pull all the right info that I had previously changed online.

I just installed windows 8 last week, but have had it on the kids computer for a couple months, I have to say it takes some getting used to, but I love how fast it is. This user account stuff needs some serious work though! It just flat out doesn't work as designed.

I've noticed another poster mention the speed. I have to think it's at the expense of the Glass. Having a few programs I wrote that use Windows Vista and Seven Glass it really annoyed me they just pulled it without a word. But I'm sure not having to do that composition speeds things up.

Thanks for all your help on this one, like I said I just ended up going back and re-enabling the account since I could not find a way to get it to completely disappear, I made it my second admin account as a "Just in Case account".

One more question, I went back and disabled the windows default admin account, that comes as disabled and I enabled just to have a backup account originally, since I don't really need 3 admin accounts on 1 machine. I notice in the user profiles I have 2 Administrator Users listed. (C:Users)
Administrator
Administrator.Parents (My PC Name)

Any idea why? Should I just leave well enough alone? Or remove the users since they are not used?

I haen't had reason to enable the built in Admin account. For that reason I don't know what happens when accounts are created and deleted. Generally I'm a believer in the "if it ain't broke don't fix it" school of optimization. Maybe somebody else has experience with multiple admin accounts on W8 and can advise you.

If I had test machines scattered on work benches I'd be more prone to experiment. But right now I'm limited to one Laptop running 8.0. That's why I don't even upgrade tp 8.1. It ain't broke. :)
