Serious Problem with Windows 8

Well, he's going to have the same problem with Windows 7. It is just coincidental the problem happened while running Windows 8. It is a known problem and the bottom line is his Laptop got clogged up with dust inside and does not have enough air flow causing the CPU to over heat and he didn't bother to read all the suggestions. So.... good luck to him, he'll be back !!!

Or he'll complain on the seven forums. Or he'll write off his computer and buy a new one (with Windows 7)

I agree.

If it's Java issues or dust in the vents, that's the same on Win7. :D

Some people think a new OS or a brand new install fixes everything! :thumb:

    That's basically it.
it's not java. regardless of the software running, your PC is supposed to be able to run at full speed for hours/days. that's the point of running programs like Prime95 for stress testing and determining if your cooling system is adequate.

As for the fan 'getting noisy', most fans will kick into a higher speed when the machine is working hard, OR if the vents etc are blocked.
A 'noisy' fan when doing 'normal' work is almost always a sign that a clean-out is due.
More-so in laptops.
