Well, he's going to have the same problem with Windows 7. It is just coincidental the problem happened while running Windows 8. It is a known problem and the bottom line is his Laptop got clogged up with dust inside and does not have enough air flow causing the CPU to over heat and he didn't bother to read all the suggestions. So.... good luck to him, he'll be back !!!
