W8Pro:
after running the SFC, corrupt files were found, but *not repaired (per the CBS.log)
Microsoft article Kb 928228 (written for Vista) states the following command can be run on the CBS.log file to identify the SFC entries and write them to a text file: findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log >sfcdetails.txt
QUESTION: I have run the above command from an elevated Command Prompt in W8 with no results; so something is wrong.
Did the author possibly mistype a piece of the command ?? Perhaps [SR] should have been written as {SR} ??
Help will be appreciated so that I can ID files NOT repaired and then try to fix them.
(ps. I have no interest in repairing or replacing my entire W8 installation as a solution for corrupt system files - at this time any way.. . Thanks )
Although the Seven Forums has a tutorial on using the SFC, with a more expanded flag? than I have tried, I can't get W8 to analyse the CBS.log and create a file for the results.
