im not exactly sure what specs youre looking for

The specs I was asking for can be found by going to your user control panel, then on the left click edit system specs.

i almost want to plug in my old hard drive that runs windows 7 because im just about sick to death of windows 8 and its only been about a month.

There is a learning curve going to 8 from 7, In my opinion 8 is better. Take your time and work through any issues you have, you will end up happy. I really want to help you with the speaker problem. I had problems too but fixed them. We can get you fixed too with patience

what did the specs tell you

i unzipped both to the desktop
first tried updating from disk :7102_PG380_VISTA
same problem after the restart. now its saying they are up to date when i try the other set from the second zip, file "hd"
should i uninstall and run the executables from these zip files?
i dont know what will happen if i uninstall realtek completely

Yes, uninstall the old ones and try to install from the exe from the zip file
