I have a 1440 x 900 display that was giving a distored image in Win 8.1 because I couldn't select the appropriate resolution. I followed DogLovers suggestion and itis now displaying correctly at 1440 x 900.
It didn't work exactly as DogLover said it would. First off the link provided didn't work so I had to go and search for the download at Download . That took a few attempts but it was helpful to know the file I needed was 10-2_legacy_vista32-64_wdm . Once I found that and downloaded it I then manually updated the driver. Again it didn't work exactly as described but I tried various subfolders in the ATI folder and eventually one worked. I'm not even quite sure which one. But the good news is that it then installed a driver and automaticall switched to 1440 x 900 without even a restart.
PS - sorry but I don't like dogs.
