Solved Problem with Radio Shortcut Addresses

I think that will work.

I 'tested' the scenario in a virtual machine using Windows Media Player. Technology still got in the way - my audio did not work in the VM and WMP complained, but
The Internet shortcut did launch WMP which still complained about the audio.

1) Bookmark this page
name it mms-b

2) Open bookmarks
Right click the bookmark mms-b created in step 1
select properties from the context menu (at the bottom of the list)
paste any of the addresses you want to listen to in a stream into the URL [______] textbox
Click OK

3) Double click the mms-b bookmark you just modified
It might take a while to begin streaming, give it a few minutes

4) Leave it in your bookmarks or copy it to your desktop
Double click the copy of mms-b on your desktop to test it in that location.

That's the best I could do, I hope it helps with the issue.

I tried the radio shortcuts that won't work for me on another computer and they worked normally without any problem!

the extension of the ones I have is '.url' and the one you've just given me is '.w3u'

It has the mms://50.22.223.13/frs_a address in the url shortcut.

Does WMP give you the error below if you double click the mmms-b shortcut?

Sounds like a missing codec. Unfortunately WMP often has trouble with different formats. Will you please Download K-Lite Codec Pack and see if that resolves your problem?

Ok, this is good information. You'll have to compare the working system against the non-working system.

I'd start with Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Default Programs
Set Default Programs -> make sure WMP has all of it's default
Set Associations -> scroll down to the Protocols section and make sure WMP has the mms: protocol

After that, it's a hunt - compare the configuration in WMP and note any differences. Then apply the differences to the non-working machine, one-by-one. Do NOT change the working machine

the only difference that I found : that my laptop has [DLNA-PLAYSINGLE URLLNA-PLAYSINGLE Protocal] added. but the other doesn't as you can see in the images.

Set you default program => Internet Explorer => Choose defaults for this program => then I tick the '.url' and saved and it really worked
