Go to "Start" (Tap the windows Icon) In the Search box type "Msconfig" (If you are suffering with the Win 8 rubbish and your start menu is missing.. you can still search and bring up "Msconfig" from this folder: C:\Windows\System32.
The "Msconfig" panel has 5 tabs General, Boot, Services, Startup and Tools. Under the tab marked Boot, ensure NONE of the boxes are checked. Hit Apply, Hit OK.. and restart your machine..
... and stay out of the config files from now on! ;-p
