My first days with a Windows 8 phone

HG, Was that the official release you installed or a pre-version. Because I don't see the update yet.

It's the Developer Preview, although when I signed up and installed the app it took a while before the 8.1 update showed up. I'm thinking it was awaiting approval by either MS, AT&Bleed, or both?

Thanks, that's what I figured. I will wait for the official update.

To expound on that > It's 8.1 via the Developer Preview method. I signed up as a developer with an account and downloaded the app. I think it did update the phone to a different OS version, but not 8.1, which I thought odd. I was about to post as to why it didn't update and so I thought I'd try looking for updates one last time and so there it was.

Pocket file manager now supports accessing other areas to some extent. Nice update to that app.

I won't link to this cause it is not free, Liquid Daffodil Add to Contacts is another excellent app to check out.

What would those 'other areas' be ?

Ring Tones, Documents (Office Phone Docs Folder), Music, Pictures, Videos, Downloads
These are added as a Provider / Phone Folder

You can now save things directly to Pocket File Manager from the Share Icon on Pic's, Vid's, etc

If you download files like PDF's from the web, they can or should be found in Downloads, which PFM has access to now.

Thanks. I store everything on the MicroSD card. Pocket File Manager is a great program. I had to try a few before I found this one. It is similar to the ES File Explorer that I have on my 32GB Nexus.

This app is free, nice simple little app to add blank transparent tiles to organize your start screen a little better.
