Microsoft has announced that it will be showing the next version of DirectX on March 20th at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco. The existence of DirectX 12 — the latest in a long-running line of API collections designed to enable Microsoft platforms to handle video game and multimedia tasks — was announced via a Microsoft teaser site and supported with a tweet from a dedicated DirectX 12 Twitter account.
