I'm running Windows 8.1 Pro x64 and basically no Metro apps or titles will open, including the much useful "Change PC Settings" accessed via the charm bar on the right side. I click the app/title, but it just expands to the whole screen but doesn't open and just returns to the start Metro menu.
The apps which are supposedly open appear on the left charm bar, but clicking on them doesn't do anything. All I see is an empty screen with the background being the same as the current theme. For example, here in my laptop I only see a green background. The "Store" app is the only one which I'm able to open.
I've already run sfc /scannow in a elevated command prompt but it doesn't fix anything and states a cbs.log has been created, but I can't open it. Any suggestions to fix it besides performing a fresh Windows install? Thanks in advance.
