Liquid Cooling Intel RTS2011LC

My 4770k runs nicely around 4.5 GHz but temps get higher than I'd like to see them. While burning core temps reach +80°C. I have a H60 with 4 fans.

:)

Every newer generation of CPU's is harder to OC, as the manufacturers main goals are a lower power consumption unfortunately.

A H60 is unfortunately not very powerful, like all closed loop kit's, which don't perform better in most cases when compared with a good heatsink-fan-combo.

Sometimes the closed loop kit's are a bit quieter than a heatsink-fan-combo and need usually less space than a full-blown heatsink.

If you compare a closed-loop-kit with a normal LCS, then you will see that already the radiators are quite different in there thickness.

Your H60 has a 27mm thick radiator and my EK-Radiator is 64mm thick and I have not even a high-end-kit.

If you have a look what they charge you for a good CPU-Water-Block, then you will see that they can be more expensive than a whole "high-end" closed-loop-kit.

Or you can buy an external high-end radiator which is three times more expensive than my whole kit.

For me it's also like a hobby and not only the chase for higher benchmark numbers and it's not too hard to put together either, at least if you opt for a kit.

If you want to go for a complete custom-loop, then you have to know a bit more about what you are doing, but all the info's are out there in the www.

Thanks for the recommendations !

I'm surely going to get a better LCS with a bigger radiator in a very near future, but for the moment my rig is dead...
