Well Brink,
All was fine until a pop up came up and indicated that two devices were almost ready for use (printer and wireless keyboard and mouse). I clicked ok for it to complete the readiness...now I'm back to no keyboard and mouse. How would I go about rolling back that driver update? Don't know if I can get to system restore via F12...may have to try to get the "repair Win8" from the install disk. No telling how long that would run for given the install times originally.
