Just what I've been waiting for :)

I think phone companies needs to be broken up again. just as soon as possible..
WE the customers have very little leaway in trying to buy plans that actually fit our needs.
( What I've seen so far from most any carrier.. they bundle way too much junk I don't need. will never use. )

We just got my wife and daughter their Nokia Lumia 928 phones through Verizon yesterday. We are switching from AT&T due to very poor coverage in our area and they had HTC Inspire Android phones, which they both hated. Our son wanted to stay with the iPhone, so he got the iPhone 5 and traded in his 4s. We got $100 credit for each of them towards our bill and we got a 6GB shared data plan for the same price we were paying for A 4GB data plan through AT&T. Because I'm a Ford employee, I also got a 20% discount, which helps.

Very nice for the family... hope to switch before long to Verizon as well...
ATT is just too high... they keep going up even on landline phones

Very good, Art. That's quite a deal! :thumb:

Overall not a big fan of cell carriers. I was the opposite in switching from Vz to AT&T, even though I was with them for many years. They didn't carry the 1520. Surprised about the coverage, though. I don't have any problems around Chi Town. Understandably, though. There's a cell tower on every corner. Even pairs are getting common. Yesterday when going into the city I saw 3 standing together!

Like I stated, not a big fan of cell carriers. Most are overpriced. I have a nephew that works AT&T in development team that even says so. He tells me there's 4-600% profit on a hand set. Then the cell phone infrastructure is far, far cheaper to build and maintain than land line, yet we get charged far more.

I have to agree with you about cell carriers being grossly overpriced HG. I have a VZ mobile hotspot for internet service and it isn't cheap for what you get. But out here in the country I don't have many options. I should have bought VZ stock back in 2009 and sat back to collect the fat the dividend they pay. At least then I could be getting some of my money back!!! :D

We're very happy with the deal we got with Verizon and I'll be joining my family once my contract is up with AT&T (11/10/2014). Not that I'm counting the days, but I am. AT&T has terrible coverage for us and I cannot get a signal at work (Dearborn, MI). I'll get the Nokia Lumia 928, or whatever comparable model is available at the time.
