Just about had enough... No luck with SSD install..

Single Language sounds like something an OEM would install. Google didn't give me much in the way of any good info on it. I don't see it listed on TechNet or MSDN either. I'm not sure if that's what was on my ASUS laptop, I don't think so. I'll have to have a look at my Wife's Acer. What language is installed on your HP?

I glanced at that Wikipedia article,. I guess I was expecting more than just that one line, "On emerging markets, a similar edition called Windows 8 Single Language (SL) was released as well." and missed it.

Anyway... After getting my games loaded to SSD last night it was rippin fast. I ran a benchmark test and I'm getting 465 read and 575 write. This will do. The OS is running plenty fast from the disc drive.

In my laptop I run a 128GB SSD for the OS and a 256GB SSD for my Data. I don't game on it but it is ripping fast now. It's a 17 inch laptop so it has dual drive bays. ASUS K75DE. When I need to reinstall I just wipe the 128GB drive and leave the 256 alone. All my documents, pictures and music is on the Data drive. :cool:

My situation is that I'm a FAA Coordinator for a large aerospace company. I use a top notch laptop (high end CAD unit) at work and by the time I get home the last thing I Hitachi 7200 rpm 2TB HD that is very fast for what it is. Maybe 15 seconds to boot up.

Most concerned about speed after launching games.

I don't game on my laptop, not yet anyway. I do that on my desktop PC. I'm mulling over getting an SSD for that too. I'll use the 7200 RPM 1 TB spinner for Data and run the OS from the SSD. Moneys tight so it might be a while before that happens.

After launch would be GPU CPU and RAM Storage speed only matters reading and writing to disk?
