Is Windows 8 a failure ? Time to say bye, bye MSFT ?

"Why is it, if you question anything against windows 8, you are immedialtly bashing. It is like some fanatical religion to some people.I wasn`t bashing , just asking a simple question that i believe Mystere has given a reasonable explaination which i am happy with. Plus just running some factory overclocked memry doesnt really answer my question"

I am not bashing anyone, but have had with the negative posts about Win 8.

So if you don't like it, don't use it.

I dislike Win 7, am not bashing it, but am not using it either.

Right on, Jeff.

Crono, I did an upgrade..yes I know, should have done a clean install..I know now..but I had so many programs I didn't want to re-install everything..big mistake on my part not thinking I would have all these problems. Also just found out my Car tuner software doesn't run on windows 8 and they are not going to hurry to support it..just another slap in the face. I'm almost ready to go back to Windows 7 just to have peace in my computer life.

Do you have a good flash drive or external drive? Best to download as many of your programs as you can and put them on an external drive, or a new partition. Then install them after installing 8. If you have games and large files, you can create a new partition and leave those files on that partition. Then you can reinstall your OS to your hearts content and not worry about losing those important files. Games may need to be reinstalled, but they may still work after moving them. Depends, I suppose. As for that car tuner software, can you link me to it? There may be a way to get it working. If not natively in 8, then by a VM.

Thanks Chrono.
I talked to Tech Support at SCT and the tech there said they got it working on some of the Windows eight CPU's so we are going to do a remote tomorrow to try and get it running but thanks for the offer. It's suppose to be 3 months support so hope we can figure it out soon.
And ya..one day I will just have to wipe it clean..for now I'll live with it..can't really change it now..got all my work stuff on there and afraid to lose stuff.
