Solved Installing a 3 pin -> 2 pin connector for PWR LED

As I said earlier, in my experience, it's easier to press down on the metal tab than it is to lift up the plastic tab.

ok, I got it ,I have cut many of those never noticed the part to push down and remove the wire ,I will have to say maybe not all have that feature ,,hope the OP gets it too

Depends on the connector and the manufacturer. Some connectors require a special tool to remove the pins without damaging them in the process. Some you can cheat if your careful with say a jewelers screw driver. The power supply Molex connectors for instance. Those pins are also removable if you know where the release tabs are.

Me too. An update would be nice. I'm still concerned there is some confusion as to which connector goes where, as noted in Post #9 above.

I think the OP removed the pins, put tape around them so they won't short out, and plugged just 2 pins into the motherboard.

I save the case wiring from old cases I've recycled and reuse the connectors. In a situation like this I would remove the two wires I needed and put a two wire shell on them. The third wire I just leave in the original shell. That way nothing can short out. I can also easily put it back the way it was originally if need be.

Thank you! I'm messed up on major painkillers after an appendix operation (seems like my computer blew up at the same time), and I misread the conncectors. Your post pointed this out.

Oh? Not according to your manual on page 25 where it clearly shows the 3-pin connector from that case goes across 3 pins of the Front Panel Header (pins 15, 17, and )19.

Note there may only be 2 wires but the connector is a 3-pin.

Make sure you are not confusing the power switch with the power LED.

there are little tabs - locking the pins in place (they look white in your pic) lift those tabs with a needle or small pic and pull the pins out of the connector
