Short story, I installed a boatload of fonts and chose not to replace any duplicate fonts. They installed ok and I was able to use them.
Then I restarted and they system fonts have all changed. Many use symbols instead of letters. This makes some functions impossible. It even effects most installed apps in some way or another.
I've tried using the "reset defaults", "restore a point" and a bunch of other suggestions from this site and others. I'm sure someone out there knows the fix. There are some suggestions to select "box color" them choose "list items-font". I've been unable to find that function on my system (8.1).
I've attached a screenshot that may point someone to a solution.
Thanks for any help.
