Solved How do I get passed a stuck Please Wait screen?

What is your problem? Why do you need the Repair Disc?

You can create your own if the Win 8 computer will still boot. Click Start, type create then select Create a Recovery Drive.

You would be better of starting a new thread as you will get more responses that way.

Please Wait screen

I am stuck at Please Wait screen. Have left my laptpop (Samsung running Windows 8 64-bits) for days but it does not go away. Tried all methods posted various times but nothing worked.

Unfortunately I did not create Recovery disc and the laptop did not come with (or I lost it) OS disc. No family and friends have Windows 8 around to get the recovery disc.

Methods tried:
1. SHIFT + F8
2. CTRL + ALT + DEL
3. WINDOW + R
4. ungraceful shutdown (take battery and power out)

Based on reading the discussions; it seems only option is left if I can get hold of recovery disc.
Any other suggestion/recommendation?

What is the make and full model number of the laptop?

It should have a built in Recovery partition you can use to restore it to factory new state or you could order the recovery disc from the manufacturer.

THANK YOU ZTruker. It definitely fixed the problem. I did not know that they have this resource online. I was searching all of drawers/shelves for documentation before searching net.

Now take the time to Create a Recovery Drive so if the hard drive dies you have a way to install Windows 8 to a new hard drive.

Make sure you check the Copy contents from the recovery partition to the recovery drive box to be able to use the recovery USB flash drive to do a factory restore/recovery of Windows 8.

The flash drive has to be 4GB or larger and will be dedicated to this, can't be used for anything else.

I downloaded the windows 8.1 and burned a system disk. When I restarted the computer, it didn't work. The laptop just went to that please wait screen.

How do I get the system disk to do what it's supposed to do? Any recommendations/suggestions?

How are you burning the disc? Why not try a flash drive using Rufus, and burn it for UEFI/GPT which is what Win 8/8.1 normally uses?

I checked my bio. It has windows 8 64-bit.
My Lenovo G580 came with pre-installed windows 8. I don't see windows 8 key anywhere on the laptop.
I chose the option 1 and downloaded windows 8.1 64-bit.
I saved the file to USB flash drive.
After the downlaod is done, I plugged in the flash drive to the laptop and restarted it.
The lenovo screen pops up, below it, the spinning circle. I don't see any other options.

Don't go directly to a flash drive, create the ISO.
Then use Rufus to create the flash drive for UEFI/GPT.

Hello!

I have an Acer Aspire V5-531. It gets stuck on "Please Wait" after the Acer logo goes away. From here I can't do anything except move the mouse. I runs with Windows 8. It can't take any CDs so that's not an option.

On the back of the laptop I find:
Aspire V5-531-10178G1TDakk
MFG date: 2013/09/09
S/N NXM2CED0203361A22F6600
SNID: 33610705566

I've tried all the short commands I know about. I have tried to remove the battery. Nothing works...

I have absolutely no idea how to fix this, is there anyone out there who knows how to fix this? And if so, please in the easiest way since I don't know that much about computers etc...

Thank you in advance!!
