Solved Help! No wireless Internet

well theres no wireless device listed there? which as far as i can tell means windows cant see it. it may be a good idea to try a system restore but wait till somebody else takes a look first

I didn't have my usb wireless adapter plugged in when I did that. I'll plug it in and try again.

Do you have the Netgear Smart Wizard installed?

It came on a disk with your adapter or you can download it from Netgear. I don't know why, but mine works best if the wizard uses the saved profiles to connect.

I installed everything on the disc so it should be on my computer. I have a netgear router too and I can't connect to the usb wireless adapter by pushing the button on it and on my router. I just don't get any networks even though the router is working fine.

Look for a Netgear folder and see if you find the wizard. It uses push to connect between the adapter and the router. Mine has the model no with .exe to start the wizard.

Networks don't show up in the genie unless I run diagnostics but I can't select any networks from there. I try the push to connect and it doesn't work.

Now push to connect works for some reason. Go figure. Thanks for the help.

Try putting in the SSID and passphrase manually in the genie. Sometimes they can be quirky, but once the profile is saved, shouldn't have any more problem connecting.

Well its coming up for spring and my grass is gonna need cutting so ill see you in a few weeks ...... At least now next time it happens you'll be a expert
