Hello,
First of, I would like to thank the people who put together this site, and everyone on here for there time to help users with questions.
Secondly,
I just purchased a HP Envy DV6-7250CA with Windows 8 Home Edition x64.
It has a NVIDIA Geforce 630m 2gb graphics card.
When I turned the computer on, followed the instructions and setup windows 8, i then proceeded to right click on the desktop, and went to screen resolution.
The display read, Mobile PC Display.
I then clicked on Advanced Settings, and the adapter type reads Intel HD Graphics 4000.
In the device manager, under Display, I have Intel HD Graphics 4000, and Nvidia 630m Geforce.
I have tried to disable the Intel HD Graphics 4000. and Now when I go to display properties, it Lists Generic, instead of Mobile PC. I have re-enabled Intel HD Graphics 4000, and it shows Mobile PC Display.
I have contacted HP regarding this matter. They advised me to download, through the link they have sent me, the NVidia Geforce 630m 2gb driver from there site, which I did, and reinstalled it. They also said to me that when I right click on desk top, I should have an option that says "Switchable Graphics". But that is not so.
Am I supposed to disable something in UEFI or in BIOS then to make the display adapter appear as NVIDIA Geforce 630M instead of Intel HD Graphics 4000 when I right click on desktop and go to screen resolution, then advanced settings. Or is this just the way its supposed to be.
I guess what i asking, how do I make the Nvidia Geforce 630m my main adapter?
Or is it supposed to be like this.
HP cant seem to answer me.
Can anyone please assist me with this.
Regards,
Yuri
