Firstly, would just like to say that everyone who is complaining about not getting their WMC Product Key yet, well, you have to remember that it's a FREE offer and Microsoft isn't obligated to give anyone anything. They are, after all, a for-profit corporation, not a charity. So just be patient and wait. As for me, I have bought an Upgrade Product Key from Microsoft online (for 8 Pro), and used this free offer to get a free key. I also obtained another 8 Pro copy from Wal-Mart, for use on my other laptop, an UltraBook by ASUS. So now I've submitted one of my other email addresses in an attempt to get a 2nd WMC key for my 2nd copy of 8 Pro. It looks like the offer is limited to 1 key per email address. I'm hoping to get a 3rd WMC key for my netbook once I buy another 8 Pro key in a few days.
But I do have a few questions. It says on the offer's webpage that you have no later than 01-31-2013 to activate the key. I've already activated the 1st WMC key on my gaming laptop but have done multiple reinstalls of 8. So..........does this mean that I'll no longer be able to use that key after Jan. 31st regardless of the fact that I've already used it, or does it mean that I only need to activate it 1 time before the 31st, and then it will remain usable after that as long as I've initially activated it before the deadline? I have every intention of initially activating each key after I receive them, before the deadline, but want to make sure that they will remain usable permanently after that. Because I have heard that some Product Keys for certain MS products are time-limited and have an activation limit as well, regardless of whether you obtained said product legitimately (paid for it), got it for free from DreamSpark, TechNet/MSDN, etc. Am hoping I will not need to buy any WMC keys in the future, is all.
