Flash videos: video hangs at start, audio runs normally

I have given up with this. All suggestions, everything I know, it has been useless. Using Flash, audio starts normally but video freezes for a few seconds.

I will reinstall when I find enough energy. Would be nice to find a reason for this, though.

The only thing I can think of is internet connection but your way closer to Finland than I ?

I have a fast and flawless connection, tracing the route to Finnish servers or pinging them gives good results. Even when connected with CyberGhost VPN to a Finnish server I get good speeds up and down, only ping is a bit high when using VPN.

I do not believe this is a connection issue.

That's what old memory gets you. It used to be the other way around. Adobe should have that information on every Global settings page in big red print! It won't hurt to use it, but it might not do any good either if your local settings are different.
