Actually the access is denied because you do not have permission to access C:\Windows\system32\netsh.exe. So if you really want to do this you will have to gain ownership of the process by right-clicking the netsh.exe and going to properties and permissions. Tha´t all!
I am going to be "that" guy and dredge up an old post due to its relevance vs making a new one while making my first post lol.
Hope that is OK?
My wife's PC running 8.1 with a WiFi USB adaptor is now giving me the dreaded "windows could not automatically detect this network's proxy settings", worked fine yesterday and nothing changed or installed.
I have done everything to no avail.
System Restore = No Change
Reset Device via disable / re-enable = No Change
Tried different USB ports and 2 different WiFi dongles = No Change
Scanned with Malwarebytes = No Change
Run CMD as Admin and winsock & ipv4 (get the same error as the user who posted a pic of it did - access denied) = No Change
This is where I cannot seem to gain full control in the security tab for netsh.
I only get read access and no ability to check anything off thus I am getting the access denied error when trying to reset.
Only trusted installer seems to have that access.
I am pretty well versed in computers when it comes to both hardware and software troubleshooting however I am even at a loss for how this happened and how to correct it.
Any help is appreciated!
Cheers
