A few months back, Malwarebytes started throwing "malware detected" warnings, and they were "security hijack" as vendor and "registry key" and "registry value" (4 each) as type. I've read that this is an old hijack, where "debugger" is run whenever the program is called. It comes up under "Image File Execution Options", and instead of a debugger program, it's actually malware. When I quarantine the keys and values, then restart my computer, they are back again. Can anyone explain in detail, and tell me how to get rid of this malware without a system restore? And maybe how to keep it from happening again? Thanks in advance!
I went into the registry and looked, and the key seems to direct to "stripmyrights". I know this is an older program, and I do have "simple software restriction policy" and "EMET", is "strip my rights" related to either of these? I've never installed anything by that name...
