I ran into some really strange problems lately
This morning, when I tried to shut my computer off, windows told me it had updates to install. So I did, turned it off and brought it with me to work. When I arrived and turned it on, I started getting some weird errors. First of all, as soon as I arrived to the desktop I got an explorer.exe error (can't remember what it said exactly, since it didn't happen every time I rebooted), and right after closing the error message I noticed I couldn't use the Metro interface. The sidebar didn't appear, clicking on the start button (desktop or keyboard) didn't do anything. It didn't even animate when I put the cursor over the button...
After that I started browsing for a fix, and while I was doing it another error message popped up. This time it was NvTmru.exe, saying something like "this process is not meant to run on certain operating systems". I knew this was GPU driver related, so I immediately went to fix this one by reinstalling them. I noticed that uninstalling them through control panel didn't work, which was weird, so I downloaded a uninstaller application and installed the newest drivers successfully.
After fixing the driver issue, the errors stopped appearing. I was happy at first, until I realized I still couldn't use the Metro interface. I tried doing a system restore, two days before this happened, and nothing. I tried running sfc /scannow, it found corrupt files but couldn't fix some of them. All of this started with an update, so it must've been that. What should I do? Please help.
Thank you for your time.
