Can't run programs that use sound
Hello,
ever since I updated to windows 8.1 on my laptop, every once in a while, when i start it up, I just can't run anything that uses sound.
- What is effected? Apparently every programm (Games, Windows Media Player, Audacity) that uses sound, just doesn't start, or, crashes when i start it up. But games and other programms, that have no sound for any reason run just fine. I can use Chrome with no proplems, but when i watch a video, or go to any other site that requires sound, it just doesn't load, or the area that uses the plugin doesn't work (so e.g. i get a black youtube video area)
- When does it happen? Recently the proplem appeared sometimes when i started my laptop. Rebooting it usually fixed the problem. But today when i started it up, it just didn't work, nor could i fix it by restarting.
I am using a MSI GE60 laptop, to which i have a logitech mouse and headset attached, with the required software installed (which crashes when i try to make a sound check). But even when i disconnect the headset pre or post starting the laptop, there's no difference, and even tried reinstalling the Logitech Gaming Software, therefor I'm assuming that's not the problem.
I would be very thankful for any advice on how to fix the problem.
Thank you,
Maxi
