Can't install .NET Framework 3.5

check tht your win 8 is authentic.

It stops at 65.8% with an Error message.

I've tried everything now, and its getting quite frustrating. The windows updater doesn't work. The dism cmd stops at 65.8% with a 0x800f081f error. Is there seriously no way to install framework 3.5? It's really interrupting my work.
Has anyone had success so far?

EDIT: Yes I have an authentic windows and i'm running win8 64bit.

EDIT 2: Running dism.exe /online /enable-feature /featurename:NetFX3 /Source:\sources\sxs without /Limitaccess gets me to 66.5%
but still fails after that giving the 0x800f0906 error. Completely clueless here

no prob here man, i presume your ran the cmd in Admin mode. check here also:

Yeah I ran it in Admin mode, the link you provided is of no help, because it still wants to connect to windows update to download .Net Framework 3.5

It basically does the same thing that i tried to do with the commands, so it fails and gives me the same errors.

okay I gathered the lines of the crime ..if am not wrong


net frame work is very sensitive when you get the error your screwed but sometimes when you keep trying it works

so try my way I hope works
copy SXS folder to C drive

then copy and past this to CMD

dism /online /get-features
dism /online /enable-feature /featurename:netfx3 /all /source:c:\sxs /limitaccess

then press ok then pray to god so it will work

hey if it didn't work you must reinstall windows 8 but this time CARFULLY copy sxs folder to c then run cmd
paste this dism /online /get-features
dism /online /enable-feature /featurename:netfx3 /all /source:c:\sxs /limitaccess

it happened to many times
I know its bit of crazy but each time I install windows I fell difference between installations

Thanks for answering, but what you are suggesting is the exact same thing that I've been doing. The difference is that the source is now my local drive instead of the dvd drive. That of course does not work, and I have actually tried that already. Thanks again for answering though, I hope I can someday install it.

oh now I see... it is hard reinstall windows its a punch in the face...
am not sure but try this DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

it may be bad suggestion but did you tried cleaning registry

HEY I found this C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution
try deleting folders one by one inside this folder SoftwareDistribution

......if nothing worked try this
deleting folders one by one inside this folder SoftwareDistribution
then try copying the content inside SXS folder to ‪C:\Windows\WinSxS (if it asked to replace the files then do it)
after that try enabling net framework 3.5 from control panel

I was informed by MS that this is only for Surface if you do not have Surface you do not need it
