Can't access certain sites until I reboot - TCP/IP problem

Wow! That's impressive!

I can see you're advanced user. Just wanted to check for sure. Sometimes we forget. Well, that rules that out.

Component heating up too much now and then perhaps?

Second thought > That wouldn't make sense since it cures upon reboot. I can't for the life of me....

Come to think of it, I was having the same problem with IE11 just after Update 1 and was having that when I upgraded to 8.1 originally. After waiting for a page to load for the longest time I would, like you, hit escape then F5 for refresh and the page would instantly appear. After 2 or 3 days the problem went away.

I wonder if it's a security item within a browser? Strange though.

Looks like the problems that you are having. Dates back to the inception of VZ's Home Fusion service, since 2012. https://community.verizonwireless.com/thread/786210 There are as many users of Verizon's services that complain about it. As I stated. As there is with the other providers.

Home Fusion is nothing more then using a Pico Cell to communicate with a Cellular tower. In order for it to properly work. The tower radios cannot be congested, and you have to have near perfect Cellular coverage in your area.

This is a couple of pages, of people just like you that is having the same issues. This is just as of 3/26/14. https://community.verizonwireless.com/message/1069637#1069637

I'm getting 50+ Mbps downloads. There is a tower less than a mile from me. And I only have problems accessing certain sites. The same sites over and over and over. And as I said before, when I can't access a site on this desktop PC I CAN access it just fine - via the same network - from other devices. Can you please explain how what you posted applies to MY problem?

The link you posted is people talking about their connection to the Internet going up and down completely, meaning they can't access anything. That is NOT the problem I have.

Believe me, I've spent HOURS searching and researching this. In fact, if you can find a single person talking about the specific problem I've posted about in this thread, I'll paypal you $50 right now.

OK just posting an update for anyone who happens to search and come across this. Turns out it's an IPv6 problem with the verizon router/firmware. If you disable IPv6 it solves the problem, and speeds up the entire experience because everything just connects faster. Obviously not a long-term solution but hopefully Verizon will get it fixed before too long. Apparently the current router/firmware combo results in some IPv6 packets being too big or something like that, which causes them to be dropped and leads to intermittent problems with certain sites.
