Can i take A backup in safe mode?????

Not clear to me what the op's machine is doing. I don't know how he can get into safe mode if bcd is missing. It is more likely a bcd entry is missing or corrupt.

Making a backup image isn't going to fix that. Best to run startup repair from some kind of boot media.

Or, if he can get into safe mode, he can try fixing the entry using commands.

It does make more sense to fix the problem before doing a backup.

Sounds like the OP needs to take his computer to an expert who can fix it, without loosing all his data files in the process.

I really hate these new PC's that come out with no recovery partition, no recovery DVD and no Lic. Key.

Two things I've done for my customers who have purchased PC's like that.....one is to run a keyfinder program to find the lic. key,
next is to run a Backup program from a Boot CD, to make a backup image (compressed) of the HD and store that image to either another HD or a set of DVD's.

Then even if the HD totally crashes, a full system restore can be done.

As a computer tech, of over 30 years, it still almost brings me to tears, when a friend's or customer's PC hard drive crashes and takes years of pictures and data files with it. I just had that happen earlier this week. The controller card on the old WD drive burned up.
So much for WD dependability. And so much for not doing backups!

Cheers Mates!
