No I haven't. This computer doesn't even have a disc drive so I would have to go out and buy an external disc drive.
Thats not a problem. See, when I boot it up and press "ESC" and then select boot options it wont even load, the booting options. But I'll probly just go out and get an external disc drive today and just put in the windows 8 install disc and see if I can repair it.

For HP Laptop:
  1. F10 will get you into BIOS
  2. ESC will display the BOOT Menu.

Since you did not have the Windows 8 Installation disk and you probably don't have the Recovery disk. Let us try:

  1. Use your friend's PC
  2. You need to have a USB stick, 1GB or 2GB is fine and Format the USB stick using Fat32
  3. Download the Recovery Rar file from my Dropbox, it is 204MB in size:
    https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/73124583/Recovery.rar
  4. Use Winrar or Winzip or 7Zip to unzip the content to the USB stick.
  5. Plug the USB stick into the laptop
  6. Power on the Laptop, Keep tapping on the <ESC> key until you get the BOOT menu.
  7. Select the USB stick to BOOT from
  8. Once booted. Select US Keyboard->TroubleShooting->Advanced Options->Automatic Repair->Windows 8
  9. If Repair is successful, unplug the USB Stick and try to boot normally

Okay so i cant even get into the boot options, so I have decided to make a video so you guys can have a greater understanding of the situation.

Computer issues - YouTube
You have to plug in the USB stick first then power on your PC and tapping ESC key right away before Windows get loaded.

The exact same things happen when I follow your instructions.

i stick the usb in first, then power it on, then spam ESC before windows gets loaded and select boot options and it still just goes to the black screen with the cursor

Try this:

At the Black Screen of Deth, try pressing Windows Key+P. Then hit the Down Arrow key and press Enter.

Keep Doing it up to 4 times and see if you get anything.

It just occurred to me, your Monitor Output may be set to a "Second Screen" mode, so Cycle through the settings and see if it does anything.

If you are trying to boot from a USB stick for re-installing, you'll have to use F12 or whatever key you use for selecting Boot device. Because I don't see any way around this other than re-installing Windows 8.
