Advance Notification October 14th 2014 Security Bulletin

Today, we provide advance notification for the release of nine Security Bulletins. Three of these updates are rated Critical, five are rated as Important, and one is rated Moderate in severity. These updates are for Microsoft Windows, Internet Explorer, Office, .NET Framework, and ASP.NET.

As per our usual process, we’ve scheduled the Security Bulletin release for the second Tuesday of the month, October 14, 2014, at approximately 10 a.m. PDT. Revisit this blog then for analysis of the relative impact, as well as deployment guidance, together with a brief video overview of the month’s updates. Until then, please review the ANS summary page for more information to help you prepare for Security Bulletin testing and deployment.

As a reminder, we are now using a new format for our Security Bulletin Webcast, scheduled on Wednesday, October 15, at 11 a.m. PDT. You are no longer required to register, download the Live Meeting client, or dial in to a separate number. A link to the Webcast will be included in our blog next Tuesday.

I use Bing & Google also, I have them on my favourites bar

I just don't like these fake search boxes which are appearing on new tab pages that all they do is direct you straight to the address bar to search, just seems pointless to me, might as well search from the address bar initially, and I had to get rid of it

I am confused, i see no update that made changes to IE11, Bing was always the default search provider for IE11 unless you added it like you did with Google. Before i mentioned one time way back i thought i used to see an optional update for Bing Bar. No more though.
True sometimes it's there sometimes it isn't. bing search bar at top of the browser page is all i notice.

Hey just another reason why i use Mozilla Firefox able to change search engines with ease, like the performance better.

Nothing to be confused about. Some of us had Google search as default with Bing disabled. MS chose to reverse it without our knowledge. Not nice

So it gets reversed automatically on a update. hmm...
Like said, i rather use Mozilla even though IE 11 is set as default browser for desktop links. IE11 is fast, just prefer Firefox.
