Sorry for the late reply guys, but this is what it looks like. Everything is greyed, no option to untick anything..

I suggested this to someone else:

If there is nothing else on that drive, make a new Program Files folder, but name it Program Files Test.

Open this folder up in Explorer and open the locked folder in another Explorer window and snap em side by side.

Then, try using Unlocker, COPY the folders in the locked PF folder, one by one if you have to, you might be able to do them in bunches, copy all of the Program Files into the new folder. If yo are successful, then DELETE the old PF folder using Unlocker or File Assassin, and then simply RENAME the new folder.

Give that a try, you could even use another hard Drive, a USB drive or something, use it to test one program, you will have to change the Drive Letter to test, to match the original drive.

Y know, it would not be doing this unless there were an ACTIVE program in the folder somewhere, check that out too, disable it if you can.

Ill try that when I get home mate! But I already know that I wont be able to delete the old PF folder as Ive already tried that with unlocker. It still says something about permissions..

Yes those were programs that I deliberately installed to that drive like my anti-virus as well as Microsoft Office stuff.

But even so, I went deep into the PF folder and chose to delete an old application i downloaded which has nothing to do with any running processes yet i still cannot delete and when i use unlocker it says object cannot be deleted . Do you want to perform the operation at next reboot?

Guys! Im not 100% sure, but I think it was my antivirus! I deleted both Avast and Avira and finally it works! Ill check again and confirm here for the benefit of others but all I can say is, thanks a million lehnerhus2000 and XweaponX. Thanks for taking the time to reply, I really appreciate it.

Ah. I wonder why it only affected that Drive- was the AV installed to that drive?

BTW, when Deleting with Unlocker and it says "Cannot be deleted, perform at next boot" - Hit YES and then reboot.

But you won't need to do this at this point, unless you come across it in the future.

I'm not familiar with Avira.

You aren't supposed to run two (or more) real-time AV programs simultaneously.
They may interfere with each other and cause performance (and other) issues.

Yah you probably had Overkill.

I know people who use Avira and and the full version of Avast is OK, but never ever ever never install both at once.

Its come down to use 1 AV and 1 Malware, and Malwarebytes is the most used Malware detection. But anything more than that is too much.

Are these programs that you deliberately installed to that drive, or does the drive have it's own OS on it? If it does, you may not be able to get to it. If you right click on it and go to Security Options, it will show a user which is a string of numbers. You have to remove that user, and set the Owner to Administrators. Sometimes you can't get rid of that "numbered" user.

Did you use an Admin Command Prompt?

Check your new post, An adapter problem has no bearing on elevated command prompts. It's your ROUTER. Unplug it for 10 seconds, then plug it back in.

Make sure you are using IPv4, check that in adapter Settings.

Haha yeah, Ive learned my lesson, only 1 anti-virus from now on!

And to confirm for everyone else having the same issue, its probably your anti-virus programs. Just delete it or remove from Program and Features, restart your comp and thats it! You can reinstall the anti-virus after that but like the guys have said above, ONLY INSTALL ONE!

I'm having a similar prob in 8.1, I'm trying to run a simple slipstream op on a package and its denying me access, to folders and files that are totally accessible. What a POS.
