You should also do a DISM Restore Health for the PC side of the problem:

Open a and Admin Command Prompt from Win Key + X and type in:

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

I apologize for my colleague here, he just hasn't had experience with iPhones and 8. I've had experience with iPhone, just not in 8, but this is a Widespread Problem. You will have to remove all vestiges of the BT from Device Manager, if it asks choose "Remove Driver Files", the BT Driver files should be in 8 already, but sometimes BT acts up, it is either your Phone or your PC - Try rebooting the iPhone- Hold the Home and Sleep buttons at the same time until it goes dark, then let it reboot. Turn on BT, and then try again.

No worries. I'll give it a go when I get some downtime. The restart thing I'd like to sort, just because it's something I've never come across since windows xp.
